I'm bringing in some fresh new pieces to my studio space, and although I am, indeed, a pack rat (i prefer mouse) at heart, there is only so much my walls can take. So.....these little beauties are on sale and ready for a new home! Hand painted stretched canvas, 20x20 gallery wrapped. Original price $120 each. Sale price $75 each. Enjoy!

Meet Jack.
This photo puts a smile on my face. Big time. It's pure happiness...just like him. Jack loves adventure, collecting, telling jokes, fishing, stuffed animals, football, cooking, comfy clothes, thinking, popsicles, talking, music, reading, and the beach. He helped me make that list, and it couldn't be more perfect. The youngest of my two boys, Jack is hilariously funny, creative, thoughtful, kind, curious, smart, helpful, bright, a total free spirit, and a little sneaky. Love, love, love him.

Penelope Dullaghan...the most recent artist to make me swoon. She began her freelance career as an art director for an ad agency, and now, after taking the leap to start a business of her own, has a crazy successful career creating beautiful illustrations for such publications as The Washington Post, The New York Times, and Oprah Magazine....to name just a few (seriously, the list goes on forever). There was something very familiar about her work, and then I realized why. Fabulous marketing pieces that she'd designed for Starbucks and Target...bingo. Two very close friends of mine I make a point to visit often. There's something so free and exciting about Penelope's work. Her use of color, interesting perspective, and loose aesthetic makes me happy. Nearly an hour disappeared as I flipped through her amazing portfolio. Take a peek!

I love birthdays...and I love that I was able to help my sweet sister celebrate hers this past weekend. Six of the loveliest ladies around headed out to drink, eat, laugh, and drink some more. This photo was taken as the birthday girl was surprised with a festive little dessert...warm pretzel beignets with caramel marscarpone. Heaven. Time spent with the people you love dearly is certainly something to cherish.

My goal for this brand new year is to Think Big...creatively, personally, financially, professionally. I want the next 365ish days to bring exciting challenges and inspiring opportunities. The catch, of course, is to take full advantage of what may come along, and to have the courage and confidence to jump in with both feet. Being the list maker that I am, my paper and pencil have been working overtime, neatly organizing thoughts, ideas, deadlines, and general hopes for the time ahead. Looking forward to doing more, doubting less, and enjoying the journey. Wish me luck!

Peace: 100 Ideas is a collaborative book project put together by Chen Design that juxtaposes 100 illustrations next to 100 ideas for achieving a more peaceful world. The book is printed on 100% post-consumer recycled, elemental chlorine-free paper using soy-based inks...nice. Ten percent of all net proceeds are donated to wagingpeace.org for their efforts in promoting peace around the world. Love it. Peace out...
