Warmer weather and longer days lead to one of my favorite things...eating out! And I don't mean heading out for sushi or tamales. I mean eating OUT. On a patio, on a blanket in the park, on the front porch steps, or at any of the tables that have been so amazingly set in the photos above. Allow me to introduce you to Outstanding in the Field. This organization throws large-scale dinner parties just about anywhere you could imagine...and few places you probably couldn't. Beaches, mountaintops, gardens, vineyards, and even a sea cave or two. Outstanding's mission? To introduce diners to the land, and ultimately to the origins of their food. The theme of each meal, no matter where the location may be, is to honor the farmers and food artisans that have dedicated their lives to bringing good food to the table. Tickets are on sale now...bon appétit!

After becoming a wee bit obsessed with Bri Emery's DESIGN LOVE FEST blog, I learned about something just as fabulous...Rue Magazine. Bri and three of her design besties (Cassie Lavelle of Coco + Kelley, Anne Sage of The City Sage, and Crystal Gentilello of Plush Palette) are the creative queens behind this treat of an online publication, and issue four has officially arrived! It's all about fashion, design, business, and fun, and I love that it's powered by four genius ladies. So, I'll leave you with one simple question...do you RUE?!

Guess it's fair to say that I'm still trying to find the balance between work and life. Last week was a doozy! Art, design, and LOTS and lots of color love around here lately. These photos were taken of a table I decorated for a local charity tea this past Saturday. My I HEART ART theme was presented with little felty pin favors, hand painted place mats, and color wheels...I'm still dreaming of hearts. Fun, bright results served with a slice of lemon (and a cube of sugar).

Oh. My. Anthropologie will be revealing a decorator concept on March 24th with twelve stores in the U. S. and Worldwide that will feature workshop style shops...talk about some crazy fabulous inspiration. Each store will sell wallpaper, curtains, lighting, furniture, and more. The lovely design treasures of Vera Neumann will be a part of the new "decorator shops", too. Could this BE a better idea?! My day just got a little brighter.

Color, color and more color! It seems to be a theme with me and my work these days. The weather in Kentucky has been ridiculously ho hum, so I'll just keep drinking coffee and dreaming about sunny spring days. Hope you're having a good week!

Are you a RIGHTY or a LEFTY? Came across this ad for Mercedes on one of my fav blogs yesterday...Elements of Style...and had to share! I'm a serious Right Brain girl, and the clever description above is total proof. Give me a canvas and life is good, give me my son's math homework to grade...not so much.

My collection of coffee table books isn't what I'd like it to be....mainly because, instead of books, mine is piled with crayons, playing cards, magazines, legos, and on most occasions, the remains of a snack or two. My boys have had dibs on that space for quite some time, but that's alright. I'll wait my turn. Victory will be mine eventually...and so will these books.

Confession...my addiction to all things wordy and wonderful has taken over a bit this week! Hope you've enjoyed the quote posts! This photo caught my attention, and then...BONUS...Miss Helen's sweet thought was written underneath. A most perfect saying for the week's end. Enjoy!

It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.  ~Charles Dickens
