Attention all lovers of modern design!
{me, me, me!}

Just hitting the bookshelves, Design Research is a beautiful autobiography of the, now closed, store of the same name in Boston. Influential to many of the beautiful and innovative designs seen in Target, IKEA, and Crate & Barrel...a few of my favorite shopping spots...Design Research continues to amaze and inspire. The founder of DR, Ben Thompson, encouraged people to purchase everyday things in ways they never had by giving them access to fantastic objects and accessories. In doing so, he fulfilled the promise of the book's subtitle: "The Store That Brought Modern Living to American Homes."

Can't wait to flip through this one!

"S" is for "SWEET"

The perfect word to describe Sadie. A little girl with a new room,
a fabulous purple bed, and a happy piece of art that fits right in.

...guacamole, fish tacos, mac n' cheese with roasted poblanos, ceviche, and the best grapefruit margaritas you'll ever sip (or gulp, in my case). Maybe I'm a teensy bit biased since my sweet cousin owns the place, but Nada is beyond amazing. Voted Best New Restaurant by Cincinnati Magazine in 2008 and Best Margarita and Appetizer by City Beat in 2009, I'd say others might agree. Yum...

Clark
{3 years old}

Wish I could spot a sweet little bird like this one in my own backyard. Inspired by Matisse and his beautiful work, the kids at SPROUT have, once again, amazed me with their imagination and talent. Our Smile For The Birdie project was a colorful success!

Although I'm loving the thought of crisp weather, apple cider and a
pumpkin or two, I must admit to feeling a bit sad about saying
goodbye to summer. I always do. It's my favorite season...and why
wouldn't it be?! Flip flops, farmer's markets, popsicles, pools,
beaches, and barbecues {sigh}. So long to the butterflies,
too. Luckily, you can catch a pair of mine anytime you want.

After years of being out of the graphic loop, I'm back...and loving every minute of it. I was recently asked to design a t-shirt for the Elizabethtown Montessori's first annual 5k run/walk, and here it is! Can't wait to wear the finished product! Go to www.active.com and enter the keyword moonlight montessori for event and registration info. See you there!

Flowers, polka dots, and hearts are so much fun to paint, but I sure do love a happy boy room! It's always exciting to have the chance to make a brother's space shine, because (gasp) most of the time they sadly get overlooked. I say...bring on the stripes, the sports, the stars, the robots, the rockets, the snakes, and the skulls! And many thanks to all of the moms that do, too!

My boys, Ethan and Jack, love a fun, artistic project as much as I do. When asked to take part in the Via Colori street art festival this year, I made to sure to bring along my trusty assistants. Love this photo of Ethan's little hand so hard at work. Quality time, on a sunshiney day, doing something fun with my boys was the greatest. Looking forward to next year...

Here's a face that only a {monster} mother could love. :) At SPROUT STUDIO this week, we studied one of my favorite illustrators, Maurice Sendak, and created our own Wild Things. My little sprouts continue to amaze me with their talent and artistic spirit! xoxo
