The absolute perfect way to end the week! An installation that will make you polka dot happy (that's happier than the plain ol' happy kind of happy). You'll probably want to go buy some stickers, too. In "a surprisingly simple yet ridiculously amazing installation" for the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, artist Yayoi Kusama set up a large domestic area with every wall, table, chair, and household accessory painted bright white. Pretty inviting. Over the course of two weeks, little visitors to the museum were given thousands of dot stickers and set free within the blank space to help transform it into the dreamy explosion of color you see above. I can't stop looking through the photos! The installation, entitled The Obliteration Room, is part of Kusama’s Look Now, See Forever exhibition that runs through March 12th. I love it when a simple idea makes such a huge impact. Have a great weekend!
