It's sunny and fabulous this holiday weekend, which totally warrants a lovely recipe post. One part liquor store and one part farmer's market...obvious perfection. This springtime cocktail combines a clear spirit, some citrus, and a smidge of your fave fruit preserve (peach for me). The credit for this yummy sipper comes from Madam Geneva, a Manhattan gin bar, and it's pretty much genius. Grab a jar and enjoy!!!

PAPER LOVE...came across a new line of stationery via Oh Joy. Fig 2 Design Studio has some fabulous stuff goin' on these days! Located right outside of Washington DC, this little company has some big (beautiful) talent. My THINK BIG plan continues to be inspired by kick ass businesses just like this one. xoxo

Birthdays are the best...

especially when you're turning three...and you're a twin. TWICE the fun! We ate lots of yummy snacks, grilled our own little pizzas, and topped off the night with hot pink cupcakes. Perfect.

Being from the beautiful state of Kentucky makes me feel like the luckiest girl this side of the Mason Dixon...especially when the first weekend of May rolls around. Can't wait to celebrating the 137th running of Kentucky Derby tomorrow! This historic, festive day served as inspiration for the Sprout Studio project this week, along with an amazing artist. In 2006, Ann Wood started making cardboard horses as a self imposed assignment, a daily creative task intended to motivate and loosen her up..."little experiments, paralysis prevention." Her plan was to make a cardboard horse everyday, Monday through Friday, until she had 100. Love this idea. The photo above was taken of Ann's cardboard stampede exhibit at Tinlark in Los Angeles in 2007. Horses, horses, and more horses! Happy weekend...and Happy Derby!

WHAT?!?

A whole week went by without a single post?! I REALLY wish I could fill you in on all of the exciting details from my time here...

but it was a little more like here...

ok, so maybe that's not my actual desktop (dreaming), but I was at a desk none-the-less...and behind a laptop, and in a classroom, and at a meeting, and teaching art, and with a paintbrush, and designing a diorama, and the list goes on. However, the end of my busy week did bring a little getaway with my three sisters, which put me smack dab in a seat at a booth here...

and walking through an exhibit here...

The PERFECT way to end a busy week. With complimentary cotton candy to boot. Magic.
