Some crazy fabulous kids rooms...a la Elle Decor. Genius!

A book of stories about fonts?! I'm in. Just My Type examines how Helvetica and Comic Sans took over the world, and explains why we are still influenced by type choices made more than 500 years ago. Chapter 4 asks, "Can a font make you popular?" Sure can. Times New Roman, Palatino, Gill Sans, Didot, Baskerville...twenty years ago we hardly knew them, but now we all have our favorites. So whether you're writing a letter or designing a poster, pull down that font menu and enjoy! Computers have allowed for one of the greatest creative freedoms, a privilege we could never have anticipated in the age of the typewriter.

I'm wish listing today. It's honestly one of my favorite things to do. Sometimes it's for big things, like a trip to the beach. Other times it's for something smaller, like a list of books or new recipes to try. This time around, there's a wedding involved. An amazing, oh so exciting big day on my calendar that will require a little something special...Anthropologie anyone?!

A welcomed end to a great week. Fridays are the best...especially when you have a little something special to sip on. This recipe comes from the very talented Emily Maynard, the creative force behind Elva Fields. Her beautiful jewelry designs are unique and timeless, all made from antique and vintage pieces. Did I mention she's a Kentucky girl, too? Practically my neighbor, residing just a few counties away. Might explain the sweet tea nod in her fab recipe below. Enjoy!

Sweet Tea Sipper
one part vodka (Emily recommends Rain organic)
three parts Rooibee Red Watermelon Mint Tea
ice
sliced watermelon
basil leaf

Take a peek at Elva Fields...
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

New notebooks from SMOCK
Love the colors, love the patterns, love, love, love. SMOCK is based in Syracuse, New York, and their print shop...along with its 20 antique presses, 50 tons of equipment, and 17 employees...resides west of downtown in the Delavan Center. Nowadays, the Delavan houses many of the city’s painters, photographers, sculptors, and ceramists, as well as Syracuse's largest art gallery. SMOCK is the first and only print shop...letterpress that is...to offer printing on a luxe bamboo paper. They developed this paper with the help of a historic European paper mill, wanting to use fab paper that's not only gorgeous, but sustainable, too. Smart AND pretty?! It's possible, people.

I've yet to meet a color study I didn't like, and this one's no different. Another piece of beautiful art from Keep Calm Gallery.

Isn't this amazing?! An offset (fab) lithography print...

This unique poster aims to highlight the responsibility we have in letting animal species thrive in their natural environment—we have a choice whether or not to preserve nature and let it grow. Specially designed to assert this crucial message, it forms the basis of social attitudes towards Mother Nature for the many people out there who want to make a difference in our world.

...a $45 price tag?! Sold.
